This season has been pretty uneventful so far. We have traveled back to Choteau to hunt the first two weekends of the season but didn't make it back this weekend. Wish we could have though, since they get snow and cold temps most of this last week. Better than the 75 degrees we hunted in a couple weeks ago.

So far we have seen a couple little whitetail bucks and one pretty decent muley buck that was chasing a doe like crazy. He chased her by us at about 150 yards. The area we hunt has weird muley regulations and I don't totally understand them so we didn't shoot. If I'd had known for sure we could have shot it, I would have turned my wife loose on him! Sure was pretty with his antlers shining in the sun. For once it was even calm enough that we could hear him grunting at the doe. Last Saturday evening, I missed a big coyote on the run at about 75 yards with my 45-70. Sunday brought temps about 40 degrees cooler than the day before with snow and rain. We only saw a few whitetail does but found an area that I really want to get back into and rattle for a big whitetail buck.

We are headed back next weekend to hunt and celebrate Josie's 1st birthday which was Friday. Hopefully the roads stay nice and the bucks are rutting hard next weekend! Anyways, I thought I'd share a few pictures from our season so far.
