270 WSM and 150 ABLR

Gents,

I have a buddy going elk hunting this fall with a 270 WSM.

He is considering the 150 ABLR and 270 WSM, trophy grade Nosler ammo. Any feedback out there?

I know the 140 AB and 150 PT would be great. I have no experience with the ABLR and elk.

I think they will work fine Joel. They aren't exactly PTs but if he shoots well it'll plant elk fine.

Thanks Scotty. You're right, and the first thing I told him was if he shoots an elk through the chest it will kill it. This is my buddy who's going on his guided hunt into the Thoroughfare. I'm pumped for him, wish I had the coin to go!

I could think of about 100 other cartridges that wouldn't be any better than the 270WSM and very few that would actually be better for the hunt. Took my biggest bull with the 270 WSM and 140 AB. Did an alright job..

He'll do fine with the 150 grain ABLR in his 270 WSM. I'd have no trouble whatsoever with that bullet.
