Well it seems that all the details have now been worked out and I will be calling RMR tomorrow or Saturday & my new rifle should be on its way.
I do not think the RMR could get any busier than they are right now as it took over a month to get back to me on the pricing. But that is okay as it has been a nasty winter here and the cold is not letting up so I can not go out and play anyways .
With pricing the way it is :( this is definitely going to be my last custom job.
My pension cheques are basically just letting us make ends meet!

Blessings,
Dan

Good for you, Dan. I just picked out a new FN for a build this afternoon. I'll see if things move any faster for me. (Hint: don't bet on it.)

Looking forward to seeing it and seeing how load development goes for you.

Thanks guys, I will be keeping you in the loop :).
Mike what is going to be your next build ?

Dan

Two on the go at present--8X68S and either a 6.5X68S or a .358 Norma Magnum. The latter should be locked in by early next week.

Mike those are both Cool calibres :) looking forward to progress reports.
Have a great weekend!!

Blessings,
Dan

Very cool Dan. Can't wait to see that 280. RMR builds some beautiful rifles!

Mike, I am also looking forward to your upcoming builds. All of them sound real neat. I love them oddballs.

And Dan's 280 AI is a very handsome rifle, even if someone did turn the bolt upside down.

That's great Dan.
I can't wait to see some picture and find out how she shoots.

I might not get out to the range until April or May , it is ugly here right now I believe with the wind chill it is -38  and tomorrow with wind chill in the high minus 50s .
Oh well I guess that is why we live in Igloos up here in the Great White North .

Blessings,
Dan

Well my new lady has been shipped . Today I spoke to the young smith (Travis) who built my rifle. I asked him if he built it to the old 40 degree spec of the Ackley or the Saami Nosler spec.Travis advised that Nosler built it to a tight chambered 280AI which is what all the 280AI should be built to. He advised that 280AI was once built to a 30 degree shoulder. That is something that I did not know.
Well anyways she should be home in a few days.
Now here is the conundrum 8) do I mount the Leuy VX6 2-12X42mm our the Leica 4.5-14X42mm?

Blessings,
Dan

gerry I will have photos posted as soon as the good Doctor can get them up
I am not sure which scope will be on it.

Blessings,
Dan

I don't think there is a bad choice with those two, glad you are the one that has to decide between them :)

Either scope will serve you well, Dan. I don't imagine you will be unhappy with either. I'll be looking for your pictures.

Dan,

Looking forward to seeing pictures.

Yeah, but are you pleased?

Here's a photo of Dan's 280 AI. All I have to say is that the bolt is still on the wrong side; otherwise, it looks quite nice.

Yes Mike, I am a little excited now I have to make some decisions :) but they are good decisions.
I sent you a photo of her they placed the Talley lows on the rifle not knowing that they are for the Whelen and the Davaria.

Blessings,
Dan
