Hi , want to try 180 AB in my 30-06. I know 4350 is the standard for powder, any other suggestions, loads. thanks.

This data was incorrect as it was generated for the Ackley version.

Thanks for the info, I have the Nosler 6 book and your right, it is excellent, just looking for what works for you guys

Hank,

With the 30-06, each of those powders have worked quite well over a rather extended period. I would focus on one that is generally available during this period of tight supplies and focus on it, adjusting seating depth to get the accuracy you want. I use a lot of IMR4831 in my '06. Try it with a maximum charge of 56 grains.

H414 (57.5 grains max), H4831 (60.0 grains max), N165 (63 grains max), RL 22 (62.0 grains max). All from Nosler Reloading Guide No. 6, an excellent investment for the hand loader. Any of the aforementioned powders will give you good performance in the 30-06. It is not terribly difficult to find a good medium burn powder that will work well in the cartridge. Best of luck on the loads.

WARNING, this info is for the 30-06AI not the normal 30-06. I clued in on it with the H414 max load of 57.5. Nosler #6 doesn't list H414 for the 30-06 and 180gn bullets. Hodgdon lists a max of 55.5gn for a 180gn Sierra SPBT.

Everyone, please ensure you are conveying the correct information for the caliber requested. I hate to see someone get hurt because of misinformation

Mea culpa!!! Thank you, Rich. You are correct. I hurriedly read the information for the Ackley.
