47 gr of N135 with 150 Acoubonds, from 20-inch barrel 2770 FPS. Almost the same hole 5 shots at 100 yards. Very accurate

I just loaded up my hunting rounds yesterday.
45 rounds of 150 grain, Nosler Accubonds, over 46 grains Varget, in a Starline piece of brass, sparked off with a 200 CCI large rifle primer.
gives me enough to sight in, and adjust my scope and then get me through the season with left overs for the off season to play with if I choos.

I'm waiting on my Garmin to get a speed. I'm thinking close to 2400 fps but will confirm.
Rifle is a Nosler M21 22" 1:10 twist.

I've run the 220 gr. Sierra Pro-Hunter from a Winchester M70 22" for a bit over 2300 FPS. The same load from a Ruger M77 RSI 18.5" barrel was a bit over 2200 FPS
The load data is from an earlier version of the One Load/One caliber book. Powder is W760, Winchester brass and WLR primer. I use a Winchester M70 22" barrel 1 in 12" twist. Later versions do not show this data. I run the max load shown from the book and it seems to be more than safe. I probably could kick it up another grain or so but as it's accurate as hell now, why bother?Like Murphy sez, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Start: 42.0 gr./2177 FPS/42,000 C.U.P.
Max: 44.0 gr.?2295 FPS/46,900 C.U.P.
Accuracy from the M70 ranged from .375" to .80" at 100 yard. The best the RSI with a 1 in 10" twist was 2.5 yp 3.5" That rifle has been a one trick pony ever since I bought it. It's adequate for most deer hunting I do, but it sure isn't any kind of varmint rifle.

Not sure if my 11.25" twist will stabilize it, it possibly can with 200 grains or less. I just never tried it that heavy. Highest weight I tried was the 178 ELD M which shoots great out to 800 yards last time I tested it.

Would you know the H20 case capacity on a fired Winchester case for the .308? I'm using Lapua, volume is smaller than the Winchesters. I'm already having some powder crunch using Varget and the 178 ELDM. I would need more case volume to put those big 200 ELDX - 220 grain bullets to fit the mag.

The Barnes 130 gr TTSX is 3198 fps.

Both are great loads. Not too often you see loads for a 308 using 130 gr and especially 220 gr bullets.

I'm curious, what are your plans for those loads? That 220 is a factory velocity 30-06 load and the 130 is a lot like a 270 Win load.

For the 220's, I'm actually going to work up a subsonic load.
For the 130 gr TTSX, I've read how this load drops deer DRT. RL338 gave me a box to try. Ultimately, I'm looking for a youth load that's easy recoil with a suppressor and a quick killer.

I tried it several years ago with the first 308 I had, and that rifle didn't like it much. Thereafter with the others and current 308 I have used something else. Very possible I didn't find the right combination. So, give it a try. Works for other folks for sure. Dan.
