Helping my dad build a load for elk season this year. Would like to use the 225 grain Barnes TSX but open to suggestions. Does anyone have any pet powders and loads for this grain bullet in the .338-378 WBY? Thanks in advance.

I would look at Retumbo, H1000 and IMR7828.
OU812 used to shoot a 338-378 Wby, he should be here shortly.

RL-25 is your friend in the 338-378 at around 105 grains. Work up to the 105 as it a max charge but all guns are different, mine like slightly more. If you need any TSX in the 225 let me know as I still have some laying around.

Thanks, Bill. I had narrowed it down to RL 25 and H1000. With your suggestion I'll stick with RL 25. Thanks again.

Keep us posted with your load development.

Have you even tried Retumbo? I have gotten excellent results from it with a 200 gr (or is it 225 gr?) Nosler Ballistic Tip. Usually Retumbo gives higher velocities than the other powders.
