You knew it was coming since I have one on the way.
How about sharing some of your favorite loads and powders for the 338 Win.
I picked up some 210gr PT off SPS along with some Nosler brass and some 225gr Hornady SPs from MidWay when I ordered my dies.

I ve not owned a 338 WM but my friend and neighbor had one in a Rem 700. I loaded for him and the components were CCI250, R19 and Hornady 225. That thing was a shooter if you could tolerate the recoil. Consistently shot 3/4" 3 shot groups.

Don't remember charge weight, 74 grs maybe, but it was not mild. Used Alliant brochure charge, max , and worked up to it. Velocity was 2850 ish with a 24" barrel. Good luck and keep us posted on your load development work.

I have loaded for a 338 Win. since 1978. I have had very good results with R-19, R-22, IMR4350 and lately with Superformance and R-26. I am also going to try R-23. I generally load for 225 bullets but have used 250s.

I am getting 2850 to 2900 fps with 225bullets with 19, 26, 4350 and Superformance. All shoot to 1 3/4 to 2 1/4 at 220 yards.

RL-17 also works well, you don't have to compress it so much like RL19 and 4350. 3100fps with 200g bt and 2850 to 2900 with 225 pt and acubonds.

RL19, RL17, RL22, IMR4350, RL15, and H4831, along with a dabble of RL26 have worked really well for me. I have ran everything from 180 BT's up to 275 grain Speers. If someone held a 338 to my head and made me pick one, I'd probably go with 17. It does well all around with all the bullet weights and also compressed loads aren't needed to get the speed with any of them.

Well I have 4 out of 7 powders you listed Scotty and one is RL17.

You'll need plenty of it. The old 338 is a pretty hungry fella... You'll be surprised how fast a LB disappears when you start to working with it.

I've been looking at the Nosler manual and noticed the H2O cap is very is just a grain more than my Ackely cases. I will stock up on some more once I see how it shoots with it. I'm hoping I hit a home run with it with out too much trouble.

I hate R19 in the 338! ( Had a compressed load lose about 200fps at 10deg, a week before my late season cow elk hunt)...it had "become a solid cake", had to dig it out w/screwdriver! I went to H4350 and killed my elk. I was using the old 185 XLC, a very slick bullet...couldn't get enough powder in that short case to get real speed, but I did get a tad over 2950fps with it. I got a bit faster with R19, in about 70 deg. It pharted and phelled at 10 deg! Boo R19! I do love it in a 240W though, works entirely different! Go figure. I only loaded that 185, but I used the 210XBT in it when it was first barreled to a 340W, also with H4350. I used the 180AB in a 338 RUM over H4831. I loaded the 250 sierra and 200 Speer in a friends 338 for him, it was a godawful kicking beast late 70s Model 70...bad stock design, couldn't keep it out of your face.

Nosler fired brass runs about 90 grains of H20 from my P64.

I don't think you'll have too much trouble. I'll post up some of my loads later for you to look at.

Thanks Scotty.
Hoping my new Nosler brass is some left over production from Norma and not Silver State but then people in H&ll want ice water. It will work to get me started and I'll invest in something better later. Right now taking what is available.

I am sure it'll be great TD. Haven't seen 338's as being very picky at all. Feed them a decent powder and cartridges loaded straight and it'll shoot.

It's funny, but looking back over my targets, the 200 grain AccuBond with RL19 has been consistently accurate among a few different 338's. Same combo for the 210 Partitions works just about as well.

Here are some ideas for the 210 Partition. That is one ELK killing SOB TD.. Hands down one of my favorites in the 338. JD and a few others turned me on to it and I see why. It expands like a BT and penetrates way about it's weight class.

I got what was readily available to start with and the 200gr AB was sold out at SPS but I need something less expensive to play with for now and will develop a load for it when I can get some blems.
So what do you have with RL17? I might have to pick up some RL19 but would like to work with what I have, RL17,15 H4350, H4831, RL22 and H1000.
I have seen RL16 in some of the places I shop but have been reluctant to buy it till all the reports are in.
Thanks for the QLs that will get me started.
Do you plan on going to the NRA show in Harrisburg, PA next week? Looking for someone to hang with the wife isn't interested in going but will go if I twist her arm

17 will work with any of them. Same for H4350. H4831 is good with the 250's as is RL22.

15 will work excellent with the 180's and 210 weight class.

Here is a quick look with the powders you mentioned and 250's. Honestly, I think 250 really are alot for pretty much anything south of a ginormous bear, as you'll have a hard time keeping a 200, 210 or 225 Nosler in an elk. But, if your rifle likes them, I'd run them and have. Not a thing wrong with it.
