I have always heard that you can shoot a .38 special cartridge in a .357 magnum revolver. Can you use small pistol primers coupled with a .38 special powder charge in a .357 magnum case?

What can I expect in accuracy?

The answers are:

1. Yes and yes.....

2. Only your revolver knows what it likes. I have fired reduced loads in my 500 smith mag, 454 casull, 44 mag , and 357 magnum that would rival the respective Special loads in accuracy.
