Working on find a load for my Sako 270 WSM. Want a one load does all.

Searched through previous post, taking in tip bits of advice from several people

Ended up with 150 PT on top of 64 grs of RL-22. A recommendation from one of the regulars here.

Used my Stoney Point guage and found I can seat the bullets pretty long.

Hit the range at lunch and am happy with the target.

Now wait for 150 PT over-runs or blems and stock up.

Yea, you've a winner alright. Now its just up to you to put 'er on target when it counts. Looks to me like you're set. Good luck.

Well another rifle tuned right in. You can sure tell it is getting close to hunting season as the guys are starting to get serious 8)

Blessings,
Dan

That's a load that will work. It won't gut the elk and package it, but it will ensure that you can put the critter down cleanly.

Yep. Not much that the 150 PT won't work for.

But then next week, I need to re-sight my 35 Whelen. I have a bunch of 225 AB and PT to try

Man, that right there is just about my favorite combo in my 270WSM RL22/150 BT or PT. They run about 3120 out of my rifle and they are unbelievable how accurate they are. It just shoots them like it is meant to be.

I even scored a few 100 of the older 150 grain PT Golds and they shoot the exact same as the regular PT's and even my BT load.

They are just an awesome combo for any hunting like you mentioned. I wouldn't think twice about hunting just about anything with the PT's in the 270WSM.

Great shooting, glad it worked out so fast for you.

Superb loads you're showing, Scotty. Any of those 150 grain pills will work very nicely on game to ensure it makes the trip home with you.

Scotty, I think that one pic with all touching is just one bullet that fragmented when it hit paper.

Are you going to be home for the hunting season??
Yup everyone is getting serious. We all smell that hunting odor.

Without a doubt Mike. I have ALOT of faith in the 270WSM as a hunting cartridge. It is the 30-06 of my safe. It is so good and has hunted so much, it gets left behind most of the time!

Ha! You know Nosler's don't fragment on paper Steve!

I will be home pretty quick like, so I will be in full on prep mode getting ready for Idaho Elk/Deer. You are right about smelling the Fall Odor, although, it is a little tough to smell it from here! I was at 9K feet the other day and it was a little cooler, kinda made me feel like I was in the West, although, there aren't any elk or muleys!
