I purchased a Savage model 12 VLP in 243 this week, and wanted to know if anyone has shot good groups with 105 berger vld's? The twist is 1-9.25

I've only shot Bergers in .25, 7mm & .30 caliber. They can produce impressive accuracy.

I think you will need a 1-7 or 1-8 twist for that bullet.

Not enough twist to stabilize the bullet especially for the long shots much less at 100yds. 1 and 7 would really be nice. If you want a real bean field shooter rebarrel with a Lilja 28" three grove and that 105gr VDL will do the trick.

I think your twists is too fast. However you might wanna talk to Berger about it.

Yeah, you might be right POP, I just felt a little over would for sure stabilize the bullet.
