Big Bore Levers

The 405 Win is certainly a neat old cartridge. It is woefully underrated today. It worked for TR, however, and I do not doubt that it will still work for whoever uses it.

Yeah Mike, I agree. The only draw back to the round I see, is no .411 NPT available. I can understand that too.
But that wouldn't stop me for casting for it. A AM brass 2 cav. mould, throwing singles 300 and 350 grainers, would suffice nicely I think! And would work equally well in the Winchester 95 or the Ruger #1. I also think think the round could be cranked up some in the later, from published data as well.

For sure, that is one of the nice things about casting your own bullets. Fascinating.

Man, posting that intel is just cruel. I had forgotten the porting on those final rifles. I never could feel positive about the wart on the side of the final Big Bores, but I suppose I could hold my nose and buy such a rifle, if I had to.

I am sure that someone makes a safety delete for the M94's. I have seen them I think. Maybe it was the Marlins, but I could have sworn I saw them for M94's as well.

There are fixes, and they can look almost good. However, they are not perfect.

That is a nice looking Model 94. The seller is, however, infected with the disease that is common to those selling Model 94s that compels them to be optimistic about value. Oh, well, when I get ready to sell mine, perhaps I'll be infected with the same malady.

No idea? Says it comes with some Leverevolution loads though.

It made me wonder if it wasn't mislabled, but I am never quite so lucky there..
