Hi ya,
Anyone out there build your own?

Here is my carry 1911, or one of them I guess.
It is very rewarding building one for yourself. This is a Colt 1991 converted back to a 70 series, STI beavertail, Ed Brown bobtail & lots of other stuff.
I like a full frame carry gun, always prescribed to ol' Col. Coopers thoughts on carry gun size for reliability & accuracy. What are your thoughts?

Regards,

Very nice. I love building 1911's. Here are two that I have pics of. First one I bought as a standard 80's series.
Work includes:
Match barrel installed
Tightened slide to frame fit
Cut and polished feed ramp
All new springs installed
Extended beavertail safety installed
Skeleton hammer with sear installed
4 pound trigger job done
Beveled mag well
Crimson trace grips
I think that's it!

Very nice! Tough to beat a 1911 45 ACP for a carry gun.
I have a Kimber Tactical Pro II as my main carry gun.
I also carry a Ruger LC9 9mm and LCP 380 Auto, depending on the occasion. All are loaded with Winchester Ranger ammo.
