Hmm- is that late for your part of the world? Probably not. Just a weird winter here in the big city of MN. Saw my first one a couple weeks ago- and they are usually are a harbinger of spring. 'course they may move back south a time or two, if it starts snowing.... Another nice shot. CL

CL, this is earlier than normal. We're often still quite cold and perhaps even snowy here in mid-March.
But we get these early warming trends some years, and believe me... I'm ready for spring!

We wouldn't normally see redwing blackbirds before mid-June. I'll be watching this year as it has been unseasonably warm.
