Flaming a Euro Mount

I’ve been wanting to try flaming a deer skull to see what happens, never had the courage to try it on one of my own. I found this little guy in the woods and since he's all busted up, I didn't have anything to loose. Definitely a learning curve, but I think it’s a neat treatment that would look great with some practice, or by someone with more artistic skill than myself.

I have done that with wood to preserve it and give it a different look; But have never ever thought about doing it to a deer skull. Now you have me thinking

You could tape off the antlers when you were done and spray the skull with a clear matt spray finish to maybe highlight the burn area. I think it would make more contrast. Just a thought and I could be completely wrong.

Hmmm, might work. You can also use wood stain on antlers to make them darker for more contrast.

Shoe polish, brown, does a good job on antlers.

Saw a video where the guy buried 1 for 9 month's looked pretty nice when he dug it up.
