Iam putting a wood laminate stock onto my remington 700 bdl. Is it better to fully or partially glass bed a remington 22 inch 30.06 barrel?
Looking for accuracy and consistancy. Will be used for hunting and target.

The way my dad tought me is to bed 1" infrnt of the recoil lug al the way around the tang and up the otherr side, along with free floating the barrel.

I second BTB. Besides, you can always ADD full barrel bedding - its kinda hard to remove the stuff if you full length bedded the barrel, then decided to free float.

I float all that I bed. Caliber and length don't matter. I also bed the first inch or so in front of the recoil lug.Rick.

I'd glassbed the action and first inch of the barrel. I did this with my light, 20" barrel in .308Win., and it improved the accuracy quite a bit. It's still not a tack driver mind you but keeps my groups slightly under an inch (5 at 100yds). I think that's about the best we can hope for. Best wishes.
