Picked up my 6 Dasher the other day, Impact Precision single shot custom action, 30 inch Bartlein barrel 7.8 twist 1.250" tapered to 1.150", Jewel trigger set to 4 ounce trigger break, pillar bedded, McMillian A5 stock from my prior 6 BR topped with an ATACR 7-35 x 56mm. I had a Rem 700 and a 26 inch Bartlein barrel in 6 BR to shoot 600 yard matches, barrel was shot out. The 6 Dasher will out wind the 6 BR by 200 fps at least and stretch out to 1000 yards. That is a step up and helps with wind chasing. I should be seeing 2950 to 3000 fps, but most shooters swears by the 2950 fps range.
200 pieces of Alpha brass and a 6 Dasher modified case still in transit, just got my Short Action Customs die set, headspace body and .243 insert, the dies are sweet little things. Full size bushing die, it is free floating, comes with a decapping pin, collet, bushing, shims, and carbide mandrels which is sold separately. To adjust bump, three ways, either screw in the die old style, use a shellholder set to adjust headspace or use shims inside the die in .001" increments. Just unscrew the cap, and remove the spindle, collet, and tapered adapter, and place the shims between the bushing and tapered adapter and put it back together. The bushing has two features, it acts as a headspace and a neck sizer. That is neat, and it sizes all the way down to the shoulder to smooth out any doughnuts and sizes the headspace as well. I removed the decapping pin because I use a decapping die to knock out primers after each firing before I anneal, so I swapped it with a .2425" mandrel which sizes the fired case and mandrel opens the neck at the same time in one step instead of doing the mandrel size as a 2nd step, it takes more time doing a 2nd step. I like very low neck tension, but I can buy different mandrel sizes.
As for the seater, its a cool seating die, it comes with 4 different cups for different types of bullets and topped with a Mitutoyo micrometer. Played around with the dies last night to get the hang of how it works, and I cannot size anything yet without brass and the modified case to get my ogive in my chamber to adjust OAL height. The SAC headspace body and insert is nice, the insert is a .243" and checks your headspace, it contacts the entire shoulder and makes a measurement instead of only at one point on the shoulder that a Hornady headspace gauge will do. My Hornady Lock and Load and headspace gauge works very well for me for my other rifles, but this rig is one step up, just strictly competition and I like the best available components. Hopefully get started soon with some measuring and load works ups using virgin Alpha brass and find a sweet load to fireform at my next 600 yard match. Can't wait.

Sounds like a cool exercise to bring you to that next level! 😎
Hope you are able to achieve your expectations and shoot tiny groups at all distances with this set up!
Looking forward to your results!

Always so interesting to learn more from those practicing at that next level on this site!

Looks awesome.
How many rounds did it take to shoot out a 6br?

I would say roughly 2,500 rounds.
Good to know. I have an accurate round count of 1350. Still shoots from the high .1s to low .3s and was looking for the end of the road.
I've been looking for the end of the road, maybe I've got some more road to go. Keeping a clean bore and 5 shot groups.
Throat still looks really good in Borescope pics.

You still have more barrel life left. That is good shooting right there. The BR shot so good, I love it. What bullets are you using for the BR?
I want to get that Short Action Barrel vise kit soon, I don't like waiting a year to get my rifles back. As soon I get a great tune on this barrel and if I like it, I'll give the gunsmith a call to chamber me a exact barrel with same specs and ship to me for storage until my barrel burns out, just spin that old barrel off and spin a new one. I want to learn to spin the barrels on myself, saves time so you can start shooting again. I was bored of winning all the time shooting the .22 matches and its been so easy with that Vudoo since I got it last summer, I miss the Hi Power Class. More likely I'm back in the game next month.

My load is,
105gr Berger Boattail Target .005" jam
30.4gr Varget in Lapua brass
Cci 450
2920 fps

Criterion 28" 8 twist

Your 6 BR velocity is 2920 fps? That is pushing the mail. My BR ran about 2840 fps with 30 grains of Varget in a 26 inch barrel, 8 twist. No pressure at that speed?
