My wife and I spent the night n Astoria a few years ago; we climbed the tower also. It's a "neat" little town.

I remember Astoria as a lovely community. Should be a good gun show.

I lived in Longview, WA for 15 years and spent a lot of time fishing and camping in the Astoria / Longbeach area. Nice place to be in the SUMMER! Then rain............
We have a cabin on the Long Beach Pennusla, will be headed over there monday for the 4th of July fireworks. Usually go to llwaco but apparently they are not having them this year so we will go to Long Beach. I like the coast even with the rain but it really effects my outside activities in the winter months. I am also a mountain guy and have to drive for 30 min. to get into the foothills aroung Naselle. Lots of hiking there, bears, deer, elk, fox, eagles. There was an article in the local paper a couple of years ago, where research had determined that Pacific County had the highest density of Black Bears in the lower 48 states. Clamming on Long Beach is more like clam picking, rather than clam digging. On a good tide its not unusual to get 30 clams in about the same time frame. The beach is paved with them.
