Looks like we'll be trying out a new powder this year. I look forward to checking it out in my Weatherbies!
high energy also like RL 17! Great for Lapuas too!

This is from the article from Accurate Shooter:

"New Reloder 33 Delivers More Speed in Big Magnums
Now Alliant is introducing a new powder, Reloder 33, that uses the same kernel-impregnation technology first pioneered in Reloder 17. Alliant Reloder 33 is a new powder created by Rheinmetall Nitrochemie in Switzerland (Nitrochemie also makes Reloder 17). Like Reloder 17, Alliant’s new Reloder 33 powder employs a proprietary process by which the powder kernels are impregnated with burn-rate controlling elements. This delays the peak pressure spike and smooths out the pressure curve. Effectively, this allows the powder to deliver energy at a more constant rate, producing more overall velocity for the bullet — as much as 150 fps more than with any other powder. Reloder 33 was designed for the .338 Lapua Magnum but it is suitable for other large magnums and ultra-magnums."

Good stuff. Thanks for posting, Fotis. It does look interesting. Any new powder is always welcome when it advances the choices for propellants.

RL-17 is the only powder that actually produces better than standard velocities for the cartridges it was designed for without increasing pressures. This is the coolest type of technology for powders in quite a while. I was able using recommended load data to actually push a 145gr bullet in my 7mm-08 at 2945fps and according to the strain gauge was not over SAAMI specs for max pressures. If RL-33 ( and I see no reason why not) gives that kind of extra performance in large case cartridges without added pressures, this will be a boom for the Weatherby and Ultra mag cartridges.

Sure.....As long as you do not mind the cost accompanied with working up new loads for all your rifles!!!!

When does it end for us tinkerers?

Never FOTIS, never! Man, now I wanna try this in my 264.. Seems like it might be the bee's knee's in the big 264!

That is what they say. Can you imagine that HIGH Energy stuff giving you 3300-3400 with the 140 NAB

I sure can! You are reading my little mind right now. Might hold off on the 264 for a bit to see when this stuff hits the shelves...

I'd sure be curious to see what it will do in the 270Wby and 300Wby. And 7mmRemMag. And others...

Good news for the 338 Lapua/Lapua AI I have plans on building. Probably also good for my 7-300, STW's, and bigger .30's.

Well seems how I'm still working on STW loads, I might have to give it a try sometime this spring!

Looks like I picked a good time to get a 338 Lapua! I'm thinking I'd be pretty happy if I could push a 300SMK at 2850! That would shave off about 4 MOA at 1000.....

Any idea on when it will be available?

Apirl and the latest May

The video claimed an early April release date. I would think that seeing it on store shelves by June would be reasonable.
