Anyone using this combo? I usually load 140 Partitions or Accubonds but my brother has developed an addiction to VLDs.

I have Big Game powder and Remington brass, WLRM primers. Loading for a Tikka T3 (22 7/16" barrel) so I'll be constrained by mag length.

Thanks,

P

I load in my wifes 7-08 140 bergers, 51 gr and 51.5 gr of varget and a 210 m fed primer. shoots 1/2"

Introduce your brother to the 150 gr ABLR. With a BC of .611 and predictable on game results, its
a fantastic choice for the 7mm-08.

Wow, this sounds really hot. Max Varget for 140 Partition or AccuBond is 42.0.

Can you even get 51.5 grains of Varget in the case?

This does NOT sound correct at all!!!!!

43-44 max

I have not shot the load through my chrony , It out of a ruger American rifle. To be honest im not gonna shoot the bullet anymore. Im not at all happy with the performance with the berger bullet. Im gonna work up a new load with nosler ballistic tips..

Fotis,
Thanks again for the data.

48.0 grains over the chrony gave me an average of 2892 fps and an ES of 14. When I was at the range yesterday with my brother he only left me two to try but they overlapped at 100 yards.

I loaded 20 more today (2.808") for my next range session.

P

Disclaimer: this load is safe in my rifle, not yours, start low and work up.

I loaded a box and hit the range. The first group cut the bull at 100 so I moved to 200.

One click left and one click up. I think this dog will hunt.

I've read that the BC of these bullets is overstated. Good, but not as high as advertised.

Brian Litz , from berger bullets , tested the bc of the ABLR bullets the BC is accurate , IF you are using the correct twist barrel . I'll see if I can find that thread on another forum .
