Well I got the first piece to my new toy a (Diavari) 3-9 X 36mm came in the mail this morning :lol: Thank you Mike!
Now I have to make a decision do I keep it for the 280AI or do I place it on the Whelen and put the Leica 4.5-15 X 42mm on the AI? Okay people give me some of your experience & knowledge.

By all means, the higher power on the 280AI. Nine power is more than sufficient for the Whelen; plus, that is a nice profile with that rifle.

I agree also, the .280 AI can use the extra reach of the longer focal length scope.

Congrats on the Diavari Dan. I have one and they are very capable scopes. I am sure that you will enjoy using yours on whichever rifle that you decide.

I was able to pick up that PacNor barrel as it was in stock :wink:. I should have the barrel next week
price is very reasonable. Now if the rest of the components come in quick I could be shooting by middle of May :mrgreen:

Well it was confirmed today that the PacNor barrel has been shipped. I was also able to pick up a box of 280AI brass or should I call it 280AI gold. My son gave me a gift certificate so it did not come out of my pocket. It was almost 2.00 per piece :evil:

You are right about that, I hope to get one more box of Nosler this week or next.
I would like to pick up a couple of boxes of the new 160gr. ABLRs but I am not sure if anyone has any here north of the 49th.
Has anyone on the forum tried any of the new bullets?

Well I just ordered 2 boxes of the 150gr & 2 boxes of the 168gr ABLRs.
I hopefully will be set for the load development when I get this rifle completed.

400 bullets plus what you already have should keep you busy for a while Dan Either one should be excellent for what you have in mind.
