Trying some different lighting, prop setup and camera angles on bullet pictures. Just playing around trying to get something unique in presenting a cartridge. You all have seen other pictures of mine on cartridges, what do you think?

Trying to decide if I like that shadow line around the cartridge or not. It's interesting though.

The top two look better to me than the bottom one - the cartridge is so nicely framed in the top two.

Cool stuff!

Out of those three, I would say the middle is my favorite one. I still think I like the one's that you did for me Mike on top of the powder cansiters. Those are my favorites! It looks pretty neat and the one with several on top of the pound canister is great. I have them in a frame where I have 4 pictures in a rectangular frame that is long from top to bottom.

Throw one of those pictures you did for me up here and compare!!

You know Mike you could make money doing this. I bet me and others would pay you to make up some nice cartridge photo's of their favorites just like you did for me. If nothing else, but to off-set your cost and time involved. I sure liked the ones you did for me.

As always, I really appreciate your photographs. I'm with Guy; I like the top two photos, especially.

I like the lighting on the case, but not the shadow line around them. I think if you could keep the lighting on the case the same but get sharp edges on the cartridge, they would look excellent.

I've never really given photographing cartridges too much thought. Thinking about it now, I need to work on lighting. Something as reflective as a brass case brings a new dimension to lighting. I'm not sure my unsophisticated approach to lighting will handle it very well.

Here are a few I've taken:

I definitely prefer the cleaner reflection you get on your cases. I guess I have some experimenting to do. Thanks for posting this.

Very attractive photos, Trevor. I'm always amazed at the wealth of expertise in a broad range of disciplines found on this forum.

Final one for consideration

I hope more vote because I am trying to get a good picture that most like so I can have one for an article I am doing for June. Here is one I did a 7mm-08 140gr berger.

Mike,
I really like the first one in the last set.
Did your new trimmer come yet?

No, I had it all ordered and have been waiting for it and discovered I did not finalize my order and all this time thinking it was coming. I called them and they said I did not finish the order. Will try it again.

Mike, the Berger is a sleek looking bullet, but the .358 AB simply looks lethal.

Mike,

They are all great pictures but I like them better without the outlice shadow better.

Yeah, I will have to shoot them again to correct the shadow although I actually shot them with the idea of having that outlined shadow. Thanks for the impute.

That's cool if you got that much time on your hands you could come and do some LD for me!

How much does it pay

I like the middle one of the last group you you shot Mike! I like seeing the Nosler box in the picture. Pretty cool stuff... Need to send you a Whelen with a 225 AB...

I'm with 6mm Rermington on the middle photo. To enhance it you might want to draw a reticle crosshair on the image in the background and then have the bullet in front as the photo now shows. Might be a new and different touch. Great job on the photos.

Like "painting with fire". Light from the center and darking out at the edges.

Best bullet photos I have seen it displays the subject well.
