New rilfe for Fotis unvailed!!!!

Not real failures per se, since the game was recovered, I just personally witnessed what I consider substandard performance.

1. 30-06 165 GK at 2800 fps. Mulie doe at 80 yards. Entrance behind the shoulder and 3 exit wounds. Inside jacket material all over the place.

2. 308 Win 150 GK at 2800 fps. Antelope buck at 150 yards or so. Entrance behind the shoulder. Entire jacket found (partially mushroomed) in entrance wound between hide and ribs. Lead core found under far hide mushroomed.

The one that really disappointed me was reported by Craig Boddington when he built his Pacnor 8mm Rem mag. It was featured in one of the first issues of Rifleshooter.

220 Sierra GK 3100 fps from his 8mm mag blew up on a big black bear's neck. Took a couple of more shots to kill the bear.

Gotcha, thanks Pop for the details. Seems like everyone has stories about Sierra GK's. It is the first time I have heard of the 220gr 8mm bullet doing bad stuff. It seems like that was a stronger bullet. Thanks for providing details on them. Those seem like very reasonable shots and speeds where the bullets should have held up. Scotty

Yup and then you have other caliber Gamekings doing great and Matchkings acting like Partitions sometimes and some acting like FMJ's. Go figure!!!!

7x57 or 7mm Mauser, whichever you wish to call it! You my friend are not done, just as I am not done. I do not need a .280 Remington, but I feel this empty void without it. I loved that rifle!
