New to me squirrel rifle

Very big squirrels :grin: Savage 110 in 458 Win Mag

My base finally showed up today (MIA in the USPS system for 3 weeks) and got it put together.

My Dad used to "Bark" wood peckers with his 7MM Mag from the other side of a limb.... Was quite impressive to see half a dead limb splinter in the air and a wood pecker do somersaults off the branch.... I think you are all set!

Good looking rifle. Not seeing a muzzle brake for that beast of a cartridge. You a man I can tell you that or else you got a lot of weight for a lead sled. :lol:

I see now that rifle does have a brake on it, my eyes must of been tired last evening. I was wondering.....can't imagine shooting that cartridge un-braked. Thumper of the first order. Again, good looking set up.

The rifle came with a small radial port brake on it which I don’t think does much. I ran some 500gr Barnes through it before I got the scope on. Got to 2100 fps and recoil is mild compare to the 460. I got some 405gr powder coated cast bullets coming for this rifle.
