I was in a Bi-Mart down the Oregon Coast and found some powder for sale. The price was way better than what the LGSs are selling it for. However the selection was sparse.
I did pick up a pound of H380 and H414.
Anybody out there still using these ball powders?

Yessir.
414 in the 9.3 x 62. Seems pretty good. Flows nice and the results thus far have been good.

I use a fair amount of both H414 and H380. H380 gives excellent results with many 165/168 grain bullets in the .308. H414 can be a staple in quite a few medium cartridges.

H414 is a good one as Mike said for a ton of cartridges. I've used a little of it in the 300 WSM and it seemed to work real well.

H380 was supposedly named for 38 grains with a 50 grain bullet in a 22-250. Never tried it, but a few that did seemed to vouch for it. Today I bet we are all learning to make due with what is available. I know I've had to bend a little.

In the past I've used H380 in the .308 Win, with 168 gr match bullets, as stated by Dr. Mike. Superb accuracy, but my load was too slow to be a good 600yd match load, even though extremely accurate.

H414 works well in the 7x57 and 7-08. I also use it in my fireform load for the 280AI.

I have H380 on hand for my .220 swift. It works well for several bullet weights 45-55 grns.

I use both. H380 has been my favorite for my 243 since the day I started loading for that rifle.

Well H414 and W760 are just different lots of the same powder. I like it in the 7x57 and 30-06. Use it in other cartridges as well. Kind of bugs me because I see a lot of the Reloder powders on my LGS's shelves but not an ounce of W760 or H414. :( Never have use H380 though.

My first attempts with both were rather disappointing but they sure metered well.
