Well as you guys know, I was worried about getting my rem 700 sps 22-250 to shoot. Well I added a timney trigger and hogue overmolded stock(just until my new one comes from richard's). Today I shot 6 different loads in hopes of finding a good one. I was not dissapointed! These are all 5 shot groups at 100 yards. All loads are with 52gr Sierra HPBT, win brass, and cci 200 primer.
First load tested was 38gr. of H414 yielding a group of .348"
2nd Load- 34.5gr of Varget yielding a group of .557"
3rd- 38gr H380 with .938" (worst powder in this rifle)
4th- 34.5gr IMR 4064 with .309" group
5th- 35 gr IMR 4320 with .279" group! (Best load of the day)
6th- 33gr of IMR 3031 with .320" group
Top three powders are IMR 4320, IMR 4064, and IMR 3031. I may not try 3031 again as I have heard it is temp sensitive, but the other two powders are killer! This gun seems not to like Hodgdon powders as much , but still groups good. I may buy a sample of IMR 8208XBR and give it a try too!
