I'm curious about the positioning of the Partition within a given caliber. Is the Partition further from the base in say a 180 gr. .308 than it is in a 150 gr. .308? In other words, is there more weight behind the Partition of a bullet at the top of the weight range than one at the bottom (comparing bullets of the same caliber of course)? Or, is the gain in weight in the nose of the bullet, in front of the Partition? Does this relationship apply to all Partitions?

Thanks!

Whttail_in-Mt,

From what have seen in the past, most if not all of the weight increase is on the back end of the bullet. My experience has been with .257, .284, .308, .338, and .358 PT's.

Hope this helps you out.

Each Partition, reguardless of caliber is designed for appx 66% weight retention, therefore both cavities change for each weight.
Hope this helps :)
