What are you guys seeing for powder availability?

Our stores in Western Oregon are still really short of anything. I've been able to pick up some RL 19 and H1000 recently, but haven't seen IMR 4350 in months.

Any word on when or if we'll be back to normal with respect to primers and powder in the future?

Would love to hear what you're seeing and hearing. Thanks.

Up here in North Dakota there seems to be no shortage in most powders that i know of. Large rifle primers are pretty scarce though with plenty of small rifle primers and pistol primers around. But i couldnt tell you when the powder and primer shortage will come around for the better for everyone. Hopefully soon.

I am in nor cal and actually bought Varget yesterday the only thing they said was they cant get any 5-8lb jugs of hardly anything

We are anticipating a large shipment of Hodgdon any day. It shipped from Hodgdon this past Thursday. IMR powders are generally available. Alliant, Accurate and Ramshot powders are somewhat more scarce throughout Canada.

Northern end of Denver to Ft Collins things have been looking up - keep a close eye out and you'll find it.
Viht N-165 is generally my replacement for RL-19

I am here in Northern Virginia, and just about any shop I have been too has had a full selection of Hogdon, Alliant, Winchester and IMR powder. Large Rifle Primers are actually starting to show up also. Scotty

Here in West MI, there is no shortage of powder or primers. Life is good!

Prices are fair too, paid $17.95 for a pound of H 380 last week.

Sounds like things are getting better then...I guess I'll just have to wait for Oregon to catch up! Thanks for the information.

Any powder I need is available, however prices are absurd.
$28-$33 a lb.
Primers are limited to 500 per customer.Bullet selection is pretty poor and way outa line too.$42.95 for a box of .270 130 partitions.

A buddy was traveling through Stepenville,Tx the other day and stopped at a local shop there.
Fella had 20k large rifle primers in stock and every powder or bullet you could think of.He's a bit lighter now though

Here in Huntsville, AL (where there is a dearth of decent reloading supply) powder prices are running $25 on the low end, and $35 on the high end. I am almost to the point that I can buy a single pound of powder online, pay the hazmat, and break even on the deal versus local purchase plus tax. Of course, that's just a dismal situation all around, since that means it's nearly $40 per pound either way. I've got a bunch of what I know I use stocked up, and I'm working toward saving up for three or four different 8lb kegs to really set myself up. Once I do that, then I'll wait out the primer mess and buy them in 5k case lots. For now, I have a few thousand primers stocked, and enough powder to load for what I own for a while. I need to make a bullet purchase sometime soon or I'm going to be in trouble, but other than that, I'm alright. I see a lot of powder and such, and some primers, even Fed215 (regular and Gold Medal), but prices are still nuts.

dubyam,

Are you seeing the F215 and F215GM primers in the stores or on-line? If in stores, that is an excellent sign. I have seen F210 primers on a few occasions in limited amounts at gun shows and passing through the store. However, F215s are absent everywhere I have checked for the past year. I no longer use my supply for other people's load development, reserving what I have for my own use. I am substituting CCI250 and WLRM for load development for others.

I just came from Green Top near Richmond. They had all powders and I paid 20.00 for an lb of IMR 7828 SC. They even had 5 percent off lbs and 10 percent off jugs. They had a lot of Fed 215M and 215. They also had Win and Rem primers in all sizes. They are the best priced in the area. So they get most of my business. Scotty
