Presses and Impressions

I started with the Lee anniversary setup i think it was. Then a while back when i wanted to upgrade and my space was limited i watched the video from Gavin at ultimate reloader, and decided on the Lyman Brass-Smith Ideal, and have been very happy with it

I have the RCBS Summit and need to get it set up to use. I will be getting the upgrade for the linkage a mentioned above to mitigate the slop that can appear over time.
I find it interesting that Federal's Custom Shop uses this press for all of its custom handloading and load development.

Over the years I have also wanted the Redding T-7 and the Forester, but have not gotten either as yet...but I have used DrMike's from time to time and do like its simplicity!

I currently have 5 centerfire presses and 2 shotgun presses.

RCBS RockChucker: solid reliable press, but now regulated to a e-capping station.
Redding Ultra-Mag; bought it when forming a wildcat and loading for BPCRs, it's now my mainstay for rifle reloading.
Dillon 550B: all handgun, 223 and .308 bulk
Dillon 650: 9mm and 223 for IDPA and 3Gun

Ponsness Warren 375C: 20, 16 and 12Ga
Ponsness Warren 900E: 12GA
16 is a good gauge to be loading for!
Haven’t heard of Ponsness Warren. Will keep my eyes open!

Here ya go!

I've loaded a fairly long time but haven't used many presses. Started with a RCBS Rockchucker, then went to the cast iron LEE "O" frame press. I got the Frankfort Arsenal M Press aa few years ago and love it. It's a coaxial press and loads very consistent ammo. It looks like the Forster but with a few differences. Price being the biggest difference.

I have an old Bonanza (Forster) Co-Ax Dad gave me when I left home that is hands down my favorite; I don't think anything else compares. Quick pop in and out die change, clean primer catch in a jar, and free floating system that has produced more accurate ammo than I thought possible. Have tried a few others, and also have a Rockchucker that I use for some stuff. All single stage. The Rockchucker has been a bulletproof press, but I hate having to screw dies in and out during small test batches, but the crappy primer catch system on the Rockchucker is absolutely ridiculous! It catches half of them if you are lucky, and trying to remove the tray of spent primers isn't any better; in the end either way, half are on the floor. I need to figure out a better way to do that or the Rockchucker will be getting replace with another Co-Ax or something else. Both thumbs up for Co-Ax.
