At least I'm still 99% OEM parts. With me it's not so much the age but the mileage. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

Not me. They replaced my carburator valve a while back. (Aortic heart valve)At least I'm still 99% OEM parts.
Fotis what are your thoughs on the Brux barrel? I’m leaning towards trying one.My gunsmith went ahead and borescoped the barrel . he scoped it It looked the same way yours did...I had to buy a new Brux barrel.
The way this thead was trending, I thought you might think Fotis was speaking about a colonoscopy!? I didn't want to think of a Brux barrel being subjected to this "time-honoured" rite.Fotis what are your thoughs on the Brux barrel? I’m leaning towards trying one.
I have a Brux 6BR barrel on a Kelbly F-Class rifle and a second 308 Sporter on a Sako L-579 actioned sporter. I like them better than my Bartlein. They and a Kreiger than I have shoot well and clean easy.Fotis what are your thoughs on the Brux barrel? I’m leaning towards trying one.
I know the feeling Doc. I want to get up and go but it appears I'm stuck in first gear.Ha! Wait 'til you're an active 28 year-old living in a 78 year-old body!

At his age you would think that there would be some sort of pride in his workmanship and his reputation. I guess it's all about the dollar with no concerns as to how it was gotten. It's sad to see it.I don’t understand how someone could put barrels like that out the door, much less charge those prices for them, THEN justify it! I don’t think age is the culprit with his crap work. I’m 54 years old and am just starting to feel like I have a clue as to what I’m doing. I’m speechless to be quite honest. My name is worth more than that to me to put work like that into someone’s hands.
LOL - I remember when I was a 40 year old Elk hunter & hearing about rescues going on for a lost or injured 60 year old hunter. I would say to my self "What the heck is a 60 year old doing out in the woods" ... Well, now that I'm firmly in my mid 60's I make no mention of that anymore.I agree.
