I am wondering what is the most common scope for long range shooting. Thanks

There is a fairly big variation out there. I use a Leupold Vari-X II 6-18X40 AO but many like a higher variable power maginification while other like a high fixed power.

The most common brands are Leupold, Burris, Weaver, Nikon, Nightforce, Sightron and Zeiss.

I'd agree with JCalhoun. Most popular is 3x9x40mm for the variable and 4x for fixed power.
Buy the best glass you can afford and you will have no regrets.

Corbin, Alot of it depends on what kind of long range shooting. Do you mean 600 yard Score, or 600 yard speed goats? What is long range to you?

Sorry, I misread the question and missed the part of "long range".
corbin9191, a lot would depend on what kind of shooting and what distance you are shooting at.
I would guess the most popular variable is 4.5x14 class.

I have the 6.5-20 Mildot variant on my 7 STW. I've taken antelope with it at 1000 yards.

It's alot of money, but you need everything it offers for those extreme ranges.
