Short Magazine length for Weatherby rifles?

Hey guys,
I am getting ready to do some reloading for my new Vanguard .300 bee and i have a question for you. I measured the magazine box and came up with it being 3.580" so I am going to make mine 3.56" which is the accepted length. My uncle has a M70 in .300 bee and his shells wont even fit in my magazine. I was really suprised that the M70 had a longer magazine. Have you guys noticed that? What about the Mark V do they have the same length of magazine as the Vanguard?

I can't answer your questions comparing the magazine length but you are on the right track to loading for your rifle.

I have several Remingtons that COAL is set to the max magazine length.
This Rem 700 in .257 Weatherby I just purchased has an extra long magazine... such as I wouldn't have enough bullet in the case if I set them to the max magazine length....
