So I bought a Ruger American

That's the plan. As I explained when I was there, I didn't believe that subsonics in the .300 BLK would be much use on goats, due to their rainbow trajectory and the high winds that are (seemingly) constant there.

The .308 Win. is a whole other story, even in a goofy-looking rifle.

A local store has one of the Americans with a "Navy Digital Cammo" stock (although that's kind of a sin since I served in the Marines  ). It's a 308, and seems like a good back-up/loner gun. I happen to have an extra Nikon Buckmaster 3x9 scope.

It's just calling me... but I have so many gun projects I'd like to do. Maybe we all need some therapy.

Hope you get it, but please add a can of Krylon in there too. We don't wanna get caught carrying Navy colors. It's just not right!

That is brilliant. If I were the owner of a synthetic stocked rifle, I do believe I'd look very hard at something like that, Fotis.

Wow that looks a lot easier than I pictured it would be for sure, I think some of my stuff might start looking a tad different as I would like a Kryptex typhoon pattern on my 338-378 and some cerakote on the barrel ! no idea it was that easy, I,guess setting up for the process would be key and thanks for the video but I think I will still pay to have it done as I would mess it up for sure !

And wood also! Them old ugly ADL's or savage stocks will work.

you have no idea how hard it was to avoid having something like the flame dip Fotis posted put onto my 280AI, if i was building a bench rifle or a 22 for plinking it would be an interesting color and pattern for sure

or if it was a loaner gun, just to make sure it came back and didn't get forgotten

Mine is a tack driver. I read all the reviews also and bit, got a 270 win. The first load I tried (140gr AB, 58gr H4831SC) shoots .625" groups. What's not to like?
