I forgot to post this up. My family got me this tent for Fathers Day.

It is a 4 season tent, supposed to be good for 3, but I think 2 should fit cozy enough, plus room for some gear. It is a touch heavier than an Ultralight, but I am thinking it might pay off if we get snow in the high country in Oct. I am looking forward to getting home and setting it up a few times. Comes with great reviews. Very happy camper! I am lucky to have such an awesome family! Very much a GREAT Father's Day Gift!

Congratulations, Scotty. That is a wonderful Father's Day gift. Certainly thoughtful for someone who loves the outdoors.

That'll feel good to come home to after hunting all day. You've been blessed with a great family indeed. Congrats.

Thanks fellers! I sure have. They are the best there is..

Exact same tent i have. Will serve you well. rain, wind, couple feet of snow it doesn't care one bit.
And yes its a two person+gear tent.
I just wish the vestibule was a little bigger, although its big enough to cook in when things get to nasty to get outside.

Fantastic score Scotty! I think you did very well. REI makes some great stuff and if it breaks they replace it.......period. You will be happy! Wonderful family you have their sir!

Scotty,
I'm not sure where your hunting in ID but if your above 6000' you better be ready for it. In 15 years of elk hunting during mid to late Sept. we have had significent snow falls every year but one. I always bring my wall tent and woodstove and get teased about it - funny - when it gets cold everybody is in my tent enjoying the warmth! That looks like a great tent for an awesome trip.

...a bale of straw scattered under it & a single mantle lamp that will raise the temp from "DAMN" to "balmy" in about 10 mins. would make it even more comfy...

I shot a deer a few years back on Sept. 13th with a early season tag. The shot was 812yds with barely enough light to see through the scope and it stumbled into the timber after the shot. So I left it overnight and came back the next morning with 3-4 inches of snow on the ground. A lot of times late September to Early Oct. is worse then late Oct. for weather around here.

Hey Scotty,
Nice tent your family hooked you up with. If you ever decide to step it up and get a wall tent, check Davis Tent & Awning. I have two of their wall tents now, a 12x14, a 16x20, a stove for each, using the internal frame option, and absolutely love them. The have monthly specials and every spring, usually March they have a "scratch & dent" sale. This is when I got my two quite a bit cheaper than buying via the normal channels. They are great people to deal with.

Sorry about the distance shot, but this is my 16x20:

Scott that is a great looking tent. I would stick with using hay after using it a couple of nights you can set up a bait with it for the Elk 8)
There is nothing better than a dry tent with a cot and bag after a long day of hunting :)
Sure looking forward to all the stories this fall on our various hunts.

Blessings,
Dan

Rich, I have plans for a larger wall tent, but being we are packing into the hunt area with everything on our back, I had to go light. I will add the frame tent to my future Idaho hunting gear as I go. I am bookmarking that site too. It would be nice to score a decent deal on one of them. Thank you for the heads up.

Dan, you aren't kidding. This tent should gear and ME dry and give me a place to rest my head.. I am really looking forward to getting it set up a few times.

Nice tent buddy! I think it will be big enough for both of us  Why I'm I turning into the pack mule for this hunt? Pots, pans, stove, straw......this is not looking good for me!
