On our way to Tucson Cat and I stopped by my uncles place in Phoenix. “Hey, I got a box here you will like, bunch of stuff from your great uncle.” My great uncle had been employed by the US Geological society to map much of Alaska in the 30s. He was quite an adventurer. This has happened before and most of the stuff has gone to good will or otherwise been disposed of. My understanding is most of this was traded for but some was found by simply walking back and forth over “The Great Land” Some of it appears to have come from other parts of the country as well. It has a place on our walls now.

In the mid 70s Catherine was working for Arizona fish and game. She stopped at one of the Reservations for lunch and chanced upon the artist drawing this picture of the old woman. Cat paid the princely sum of $100.00 US for the drawing. Framed it with barn wood left over from a repair. It never seemed to find a permanent home but seems perfect in our Arizona Tiny house.

Wow, that is so cool! I have some Native American heritage as well as having a significant portion Hawaiian blood, so this is the kind of stuff some of my ancestors would have used. A fish hook, various awls, arrow heads, just neat, neat stuff. Thanks for sharing!
