Looking for a M70 Classic long action or rifle in Stainless Steel with .473 boltface (.30-06 or .270).

Yeah, I'm watching that one but I'm looking for a backup incase that one falls through. I can always build on the two blued classics I have but I kind of want a SS rifle. Just regular old .338-06 don't want to mess with the AI version.

There is that EXACT rifle in a 270 Winchester at a gun store near Woodycreek's area. I think they want 650.00 for it. It is BRAND New. Checked it out last weekend. Might be worth a call. It kinda gave me the twitches with the possibilities for building as well.

That is a great price, Scotty. It would make a great donor for a build.

Good price, but I've got a couple of offers for that shipped to my FFL. If they would ship it for that price then I might consider it. Found a decent FWT the other day on GB and bid it to $550, didn't make the reserve. So I messaged the guy after it closed to see if I was close he told me reserve was $750 on it. If I'm going to spend that much I just buy a new SS Super Shadow. I want the Classic for the old style trigger, but if I'm going to pay that much I'll settle for the new MOA trigger.

I just can't believe the disparity between the blue and SS rifles, I picked up a 06 FWT Classic four months ago for $475 after FFL fees and shipping from GB. If I can't find the right deal on a SS model I just may use that one for the build and have it coated. I'll probably have the SS coated with a clear satin finish as well to keep it more rust resistant.

If I hadn't went ahead and purchased a McMillan Hunters Edge stock I wouldn't be going through all this hassle. I've seen several M700 SS rifles that I could have used or picked up a new SPS SS and been done for around $500. Thats what I get for finding a good deal on the stock now I'm going to make up the price difference in the action. ;)
