A friend of mine is exchangeing me a Savage .204 Ruger for a Remy .270 adl I have.
Havent worked with this one by now, i just order some .204 noslers 40gr and rcbs dies.
Thinking about leaving it as my Coyote rifle?????
for this chore bought a .22mag CZ rifle for this season but im changeing my mind???
What do you think??

I really like the little .204 Ruger!

Mine is a CZ varminter, with the medium weight barrel, about 25" long. I've got a 12x Leupold on it. Have used it on rockchucks, sage rats and prairie dogs. I don't remember taking a coyote with it, but maybe I did a few years ago? Dunno.

An honest 4,000 fps is easily within reach given the 32 gr bullet. The 40 gr bullet can pull at least 3700 fps, and does better in the wind.

It's a flat shooting little zapper, with almost no recoil. In some comparisons it equals, or even beats, the .22-250, which is saying a lot as that's an outstanding varmint cartridge and always has been.

One thing I really enjoy is being able to see my hits, through the scope. It recoils so little that it doesn't even come off target. That's neat.

Reloading for it is just like loading for anything else, except it's a bit of a pain dealing with the itty bitty bullets & cases. I like BLC2 powder, though I've used little else in the years I've owned one. Actually have had two, both CZ's. The first had a shorter, lighter barrel, and although it was a great looking rifle, it wasn't quite what I wanted, so it got swapped out for the slightly heavier version.

An excellent bullet for accuracy is the flat base hollow point 35 gr Berger. Oh my... Itty bitty groups!

The plastic tip Noslers though are just about as accurate and far more explosive on varmints - and they seem to do better in the wind too.

Dunno what else you need to know. It's a cool cartridge and I think you'll enjoy.

Guy what else can be said?????? ill go for it, and will show it when Im finished with the cerakote work on it.

It is the one varminter I have wanted for a long time. If I had more space to shoot one, I would have already had one..

I have the CZ 527  it is a fun calibre.
I shoot 39 BKs out of mine & it is very accurate

Blessings,
Dan

I had 2 CZ's and a Ruger #1. All gave 4225 fps with Win 748.

I load my cz 527 varmint with 35 berger fbhp bullets and h-4895 to ave 4k fps and nice tight groups. This is an excellent coyote load which puts them down and rarely exit. I also have shot tiny groups with 32 v-max and h-322. This is better suited for smaller stuff you want to launch or explode. It is my favorite varmint/predator cartridge.

My 22-250 has been gathering a lot of dust since the .204 came around. Its accurate, flat shooting, very low recoil, and uses 13 grains less powder. Case life is very good and I think it is easy to load for. I use a bullet seater with a collar and window in the side so I just drop a bullet in the side and it is easy to seat.
