An old S&W, we've had it in the family a long time.

Man, I like those old S&W top breaks. Makes me wanna cowboy up- and yes they were out there then.... Very cool hows it shoot? CL

Those old break-tops are just cool. It is surely a handsome old handgun.

Thanks guys. I've never shot it, though I certainly wouldn't fear to do so. It appears to be in very sound condition. Locks up nice and tight. One of "Grandpa's Guns" - and yeah - as a kid I used to pretend I was a cowboy with it shoved in my belt!

Can .44 Russian ammo still be found?

It would be neat to have you wring out this dandy old revolver with some of the mild, cowboy action stuff, Guy. Some data on velocity and accuracy contra more "modern" rounds would be interesting.

Maybe I'll grab a box of ammo and a chronograph next trip home. Dad and I would enjoy a trip to the range with the old guns.

Love shooting the old ones Guy. They are fun.

The old Model 3, Triple Lock! I had a modern replica (.45 Colt) one of those which I sold several years ago. They are probably the gun that really won the west!
