Same for me. I would probably go on a archery elk hunt in New Mexico. I love the Rockies in Colorado and Wyoming, but not sure that I could handle a week to ten days chasing elk up and down ridges at 10,000-12,000 feet anymore.
I could tell many stories like the ones above. Makes me want to go organize the barn/shop. No telling what kind of stuff I have that I don't know I have.
I have shot 100s of hogs from a helicopter with an AR. That is my firearm of choice for the application. A red dot or holographic sight makes a BIG difference over open sights. I would not use magnified optics. Quick target acquisition with a moving target and moving shooting platform makes it...
I have flown several times as a gunner for hogs and coyotes. It is the most fun that I have ever had with a gun. I have a couple of videos that were hastily put together.

My 10 year old son killed this eleven point last weekend. He gross score 136 4/8. He was shooting my LaRue Tactical PredatAR 7.62. About 120 yard shot.
My first attempt at reloading. I know that I can improve on this as I learn more about reloading. But, this makes me happy.

I have hunted whitetail for years using 100 gr NAP Spitfires. Have killed dozens of deer with them. Have yet to lose one. Spitfires are great mechanical heads. I have used Thunderheads, as well. My preference for whitetail are the Spitfires.
I usually tow my '06 Jeep Wrangler to the deer lease with my '12 F250. But, I use them both during the season.
Now, hunting elk requires a different quad.
