The first time we saw them this evening, they were in the bushes only 10 yards off the road, so we got a pretty good look at them while it was good day light. Didnt have time with the camera that time though
My buddy came in this evening to do some fishing this weekend and he is from Iowa and wanted to see a bear after seeing my pictures. So we drove out and we turned off the highway and hadnt even gone 200 yards down the dirt road and saw 3 yearling/2 year old Grizzlies together. they ran off in...
Thanks guys. Ive already seen 3 grizzlies this summer and from the looks of things, Ill pass my record of seeing 9 grizzlies last summer! Ill try to get some video next time we go out if/when we see more bears.
My fiance and I took a drive this evening to see if we could see the grizzly that has been spotted up where we deer hunt a few miles out of town. No bear was seen so we drove up the Teton Canyon a couple miles and spotted this lovely couple. From what we could figure, the blonde one is a sow and...
I just went and tried some of my loads for my M77 that are seated at 3.340 and they fit. I think that length will work better since there isnt much room for the rounds to move back and forth in the mag. Maybe they wont get so beat up. Now I have 25 rounds of Btips loaded up at 3.300 still. Maybe...
They tips arent getting smashed to the point where they are seriously deformed but enough to knock little pieces off and make the first little bit of the tip flat. I should have kept one and measured it but I didnt think about it at the time. I guess if I do my part, I will only need one shot...
Went out to the range this afternoon. I didnt get to shoot the 150BTips but I shot the 130gr ABs. Nothing super impressive yet but it shows some promise already with only 30 rounds down the barrel. Here is a pic of a group shot with a load Im going to play with more.
I think Im running into a...
Just waitin for the weather to get nice. Ive got 130gr ABs loaded up with CCI200s, win brass, and 57.5, 58, 58.5, 59, and 59.5gr H4831sc. Tonight I loaded up 150gr Btips with 53.0, 53.5, 54.0, 54.5, and 55gr H4831sc with win brass and CCI200s. Cant wait to get out and shoot them.
Just waitin for it to quit raining and snowing here so I can get out to the range. I cant wait to see what this rifle will do. I hope its as good as everything I have read about them!
Ive got 4 270 Winchesters and a 270 Gibbs. All of them have different loads. One of my Ruger Hawkeye 270s is loaded with 110gr Vmaxs for coyotes and plinking, and my new Tikka will be loaded with a stouter bullet but deer and elk. The others each like different bullets
I believe we have some H4831 in the cabinet as well as RL22. School me on the short cut powders though. Excuse me if this is a dumb question. Would the same amount, for example 59gr of H4831 be the same as 59gr of 4831sc? I have always just used what the books tell me and not interchange them.
Just got a new Tikka T3 270 Win earlier this week and im building loads for it. I already have some 130gr ABs loaded with H4831sc and still need to load up some 130 Btips. Also bought a box of 150gr Btips today just for the heck of it. Any load suggestions for the 150s?
Here ya go. Cut on the red lines and you will change your mind on how useless the box is. Had this pic in my photobucket from when a guy on another forum threw a fit because he couldnt open the box without ruining it.
There are 140+ bags left. I might get around to trying them someday but until then, ya'll keep buying accubonds. That leaves that many more 95gr Btips for me!
Last weekend I went to a local gun show with my Dad and little bro. I have been wanting a concealed carry/personal protection handgun for a while. So I did a little shopping around at the gun show. I ended up bringing home a new S&W 442 38 Spl and paid $350 for it! Ive shot about 50 rounds...
Add in my vote for the 95gr Btip. I got all hot and bothered when i heard about the 90gr Accubond but that was before I had used the 95 Btip. I used them on 1 antelope, 6 whitetails, and a couple coyotes this past season. I couldnt have asked for better performance! Everything I shot with them...
Thanks! Im always debating with myself on whether or not to sell it and try something else. Im really wantin a Featherweight 270Win, 84L Montana 270 Win, or a 338 Mag of some sort.
Im on a major budget. Got student loan bills starting to come in the mail, a wedding in July, soon to be her student loans in the next year, and sooner or later, grad school loans to pay back when I get in. Also need to buy her a vehicle that gets better mileage for her 30 mile commute next...
