Thought I would give this combo a try,but ran into a sticky bolt and ejector marks at 62 grains of !MR4350,which is 2 full grains under Nosler's listed max load(64 grains).First time this has happened to me with anything I load for.The rifle is very accurate with the 140TSX and 59 grains of...
Anyone shooting this bullet in a .25-.284?I'm working up an antelope load for this fall.I know that case capacity is virtually the same as the 25-.06,but am wondering if anyone has a pet load they'd like to share? Thanks,Monashee
I'm just putting the 6.5 Rem Mag together now,on a 7mm SAUM ssBDL platform. The barrel will be a 8.5 twist 24" Pac-nor,in a Bansner stock.I have dies and brass already so it's just a matter of waiying for the barrel and it'll be ready to go. Monashee
I load 200 and 220gr A-frames for my Big 8.It makes an excellent moose/grizzly rifle for British Columbia hunting.Mine kicks a bit(it's bedded into a McMillan Mountain stock),but I wouldn't trade it for a .338.Monashee
There is no problem with Canadian laws, but US export laws prohibit the shipping of brass, bullets, etc. to Canada.Scopes as well. Sorry you have to buy them from a Canadian dealer.I waited 2 months for my .280AI brass and it cost me $2/piece after taxes!Shoots great so it was worth it! Monashee
I'm with Bludog,130Gr. .284 in the Accubond or the new Etip,or both.It would be THE deer bullet in .284Win,.280Rem. and .280AI,not to mention the 7-08 and others! Monashee
According to my OAL gauge,my chamber will only allow 3.412",so I'm going to set the bullet back to 3.402" and start from there! Monashee (quite a difference in chamber length from yours!)
While cycling unfired Nosler brass through my .280AI,I'm finding that the brass is a bit of a crush fit and when it comes out of the chamber it's scratched quite a bit from the shoulder down about a 1/2 inch. What's going on,and should I be seeing my smith about it?Thanks,Monashee
Well I have comleted my .280AI,and have 100 Nosler .280AI cases sitting in front of me!Any thoughts from any one on loads?I'm thinking Rl-22,and the bullets of choise will be 140 and 160gr Accubonds. What do you think? Monashee.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the 40 or 55gr.ballistic tips as coyote loads in this caliber?Anyone have any loads they wish to share? Thanks,Monashee
Hey JD338,do you have a load for the 140 Accubond in .280AI?Your pet .280 load has dropped a Mule Deer and a Whitetail for me already this season! Many thanks,Monashee.
