Has any one hunted with this 30 caliber bullet. I now hunt with 165 partitions w/my 30-06 and was wondering if the performace of this AccuBond bullet would hold up for Elk and such.

Sure Will!!! Shoot whichever is most accurate and don't look back. If you want a little more thump and they are accurate, try a 180. All choices will work well on elk-moose.

Definately will work. I personally use the 180gr AccuBond in my 300WM. In my 270WSM, we been taking the elk and moose with 140gr Accubonds no problem, so I think the 165 will do great. I just bought a box of 165 last week and will reload so later on to try.

I also agree that a 165 gr AB from your 30-06 will work for Elk. The 180 gr AB should also be considered for deeper penetration on quarting shots.

Does anybody here knows if the profile of the AccuBond is identical to the Ballistic Tip. Reason being, I just found out that my temperamental Sako AIII, in 300 Win Mag, really loves the 165 grain BT Federal load. I'm just not comfortable with the Ballistic Tip on the 300. An AccuBond will be a good substitute. Also does anyone knows what powder the Federal use on their load?. Any input will save me dough and exra trip to the range. Thanks

I shoot 165gr AB's in my 300mag with 77grs of RL-22 in R-P cases with CCI 250 primers.
My Rem 710 loves it. My kids and I hit a 2.5" steel spinning target @ 300yds consistantly.
