Here's my take so far - still have two more CA hog tags to fill using the 375RUM - 270 TSX.

Hunting hogs here in CA WILL BE the only thing I miss about this place when I leave. It's just so awesome to go out when ever during the year and be able to hunt a hog. Oh well, I'll get over it.

Here's a couple of 2009 hunting photos from Washington. Son with my smallish 3x3 mule deer:
Youngest son with his 35 year old 6mm Remington, stoked with handloaded 100 gr Noslers of course!
He didn't get a deer yet, but has another opportunity in November. We had several great days of hunting the Cascades together!

Another clean kill for the old 160 AccuBond. A nice 10 point whitetail from Lavaca County Texas. Opening morning of the general season at 7:30 am A high behind the shoulder shot, bang flop. This one had his mind on the does and wouldn't stop. Finally had to take a moving shot at 115 yds.

One-antlered buck with the .358 BLR and the entry point of the silvertip after hitting a 3/4 inch sapling in front of the buck
Here are the pictures of some of the deer I have taken this year.
I took 8 deer in all. I did not get pictures of two other doe.
The pictured doe was taken at 103 yards with my T/C Contender pistol with my wildcat 6mm-225 Winchester 14" barrel and a 80 gr Sierra SSP bullet.
Three of the bucks were taken with my 264 Win mag between 98 and 275 yards with 130 Nosler AccuBond bullets.
Two of the bucks were taken at the same crossing on a logging road 111 yards from my stand with my 25-06 and a 117 gr Sierra Pro hunter.

I am using the Weaver classic 2.5 - 8 X 28 with the duplex cross hair. I have two of these scopes. One is on the 14" 6mm-225 Winchester barrel and the other is on a 10" 357 mag barrel. I have had Leupold pistol scopes and have shot with many of the other brands and my pick is the Weaver. You can't beat them for the money. They are very clear and they have held up very well for 5 years. I have never had to touch the adjustments from the day that I sighted them in when they were new. I really like the 2.5 power for short range and wide field of view and then you can crank it up to 8 power to really place that bullet at longer ranges. I am contemplating getting a 14" 7-30 Waters or 30-30 barrel. I have killed deer with both of the barrels I now have between 100 and 120 yards.

.260 Rem w/ 26" 1:8 bbl, 130gr. AB, 2925 fps, 296 yds. (lasered), frontal shot cold bore. If you look right behind the front leg you see the exit.

A fine NM buck through the vitals with a Win M70 30-06 165 AccuBond @ 285 yards (Timney trigger, McMillan stock and yes, a bipod)...didn't take a step. Great performance, definitely worth the price. I used a grand total of one cartridge this year. At this rate, I'll never need to buy ammo again (unless I live to be 134). Depression has set in, one more year until hunting season.
To all that posted, thanks for the pics. I love looking at the scenery as well; I’ll file that in my “lessons learned” book and take some pics of the scenery next year. Merry Christmas to all!
