Thanks guys. We had a lot of fun. Mike and Dani are absolutely terrific people and it was my pleasure to help them get their bucks!

None of the bucks are "big" but Mike's isn't bad. That buck's right antler was broken off. I told Mike that showed some "attitude" and that his buck was a fighter.

Dani was so excited... I was super happy for her when she dropped her buck.

John... Yeah, he's a great "kid" at 22, and went out and got his buck without any interference from me. That was pretty cool too. BTW, he got his "European" skull mount back an hour ago!

I was lucky to tag out on opening morning. .280 Remington 140gr TSX 160 yards. Wind was not cooperative at all, but I got the job done!

Daughter got it done all on her own! A button buck at dusk. She called me for field dressing advice, but then her phone died (she had only watched before). She said, " I remember asking you once about field dressing, and you told me to just think of it as 'cleaning a big fish'". I don't recall that, but she got it done without problems. Dad's proud of his Marine-trained daughter, can you tell?? :grin: :grin:

Thanks, Doc & Scotty. She did great. That's her 788 .308 Win I put up pictures of before. It continues to serve her well. I wasn't sure how dead her phone was, so I wrote up Dad's field dressing instructions in two pretty concise text messages - that didn't deliver :lol: I was more challenged doing that than she was squeezing the trigger. :lol: EE2

Load 150 BT 48.0 gr BL-C(2). 2,850 fps from her rifle. CCI 250's to light off the ball powder. Amazing how Corps training can help a mom, wife, preschool teacher and bus driver in all kinds of ways! Semper Fi, Scotty!
