Finally I got one.
This now completes my WBY collection. Every caliber made I now own. What is cool is each rifle is in a different configuration. No two are identical. Anyway I put a Zeiss 4.5x14x44 on the VarmintMaster and shot a couple of loads with it this weekend just for feel. The 50 gr Sierra blitz at 3800 fps was ok and the 77 TMK at 3200 fps did about .7" or so.

After I made up the play loads (not serious handloading...... just got the gun that day) I noticed that the bullets can be sat out way past the 2.330" Max COAL of yesteryear. I have to measure the mag box but it is longer than that. Anyway here she is.

Man what a beautiful rifle! I aspire to be you when I grow up! I got a long way to go, I got my first Weatherby rifle in 257 Weatherby this year.

Is the 224 Weatherby based on anything?

Beautiful wood Fotis and it sounds like it will shoot with some tuning of the loads.
I remember you wanting to buy my Zeiss Conquest but don't remember selling it to you, OK I found it in the safe.;)

No! The 224 Bee has no parent case. The history on it is interesting. This is where Roy dropped the proverbial "ballistic ball". Back then the 220 Swift had come out, and most were crying about the barrel burn outs. I had a few Swifts and never burned out the barrel. So Roy thought about besting it with the 228 WBY Rocket. The issue he ran into was a lack of suitable powders to make that thing sing as a WBY should. So that coupled with people crying about burn outs lead to a proprietary chambering not based on any previous case the 224 Bee.

Beautiful wood Fotis ........;)
Thank you! But it better be! Currently the 224 can only be had in this configuration. Only with AA walnut wood, maple spacers, ebony endcaps etc. Believe me I paid for it. LOL

Love the gun! I am watching and interested in buying a Weatherby right now. You now have all of them, what's your favorite one? Any of them stand out for shooting mild distance (400-600 max) and any of them you think stand above the non Weatherby cals for medium game?

Hard to say really. I mean look at the 7mm Rem mag vs the 7mm Bee. Too close to each other especially if the Bee has a 24" tube via Vanguard chassis. The 7mm the 300 and even the 270 Bee will do just about anything in North America providing you use a commensurate bullet for the task. My favorite would have to be the 378 Bee. Been on my wish list since I was a teen and was the first one I bought.

Gorgeous rifle Fotis.
Congratulations on having a "Complete" collection but I must disagree. Weatherby keeps putting out new rifles and chamberings. We both know there will be another one that you must have. 🤣
Nicely done buddy!
