I am just getting started on shooting long distances and I am wondering if anyone here has a relly good load for a 300 win mag that is good for long shooting and will still hold a tight group at that distance. Because i have been using my 270 win for shooting at those long ranges and it did good but i wanted to get a bigger gun that has a wider bullet selection for it and can shoot really accurate at those long distances. Thanks

This load shoots under MOA in 3 different rifles-

300 Win Mag
180 gr PT
75.0 grs RL22
W-W case
Federal GM215M

Remember to start low and work up.

Ok thank you I will give it a try

Also try H1000 as an alternate load to what JD proposed. 180 grain and 80gr of powders or so.

I will give that a try also, thank you.

I noticed you posted this in the competition section. For Paper punching, the BT typically shoot better then the partitions, at 1/2 the price. If I have a load where PT shoot 1 MOA, BT will typically shoot 1/2 moa....at least for me.
RL22, and H1000 are both great powders to start with. I'd try them both and see which on shot better in my rifle.

Started with a 200gr SMK and different powders found that RL-25 gave the best ( upper end)
groups in Win brass and 215M...Now the 200gr Game King shoots the same look at the BC and
see if your rifle likes the load. Have two 300's and the load groups sub min....
the BIG thing is barrel life with a 300 Win its better than the short mags but still an issue 800-
1200 rounds generally in a 300 Win.
The 208gr that Hornady has come out with says a BC of 648...WOW
Several people are loading these in 308 and 3006 with great results for long range shooting
1000 -1200 yds.
If you want to shoot great distances go to the 338 EDGE shoots to 2000yds this rifle is the same as the
Lapua but cost a great deal less to shoot and is Very accurate.....Built on a 300 ULTRA action just use
a 338 expander ball in 300 brass your dies are about $120.00 up......
Now the choices.....enjoy your shooting....

Thanks guys for the replys's but I traded the 300 win mag for a 7mm wsm over a year ago lol. But Thank you!

You went from good to good. Either is counted as an excellent cartridge. I do like my 7mm WSM, however.
