7mm rum

I have a custom 7mm rum with 28" barrel. Looking for loads with retumbo,RL 33,viht n570 and norma 217. Gonna be using 160 AccuBond, 168&175 AccuBond LR. Really have a hard time finding loads with the last 3 powders! Have gun,bullets and powder but no where to start. Any help would be appreciated

Norma 217 isn't in the database for QL at this time. I would anticipate it will be included in the next data update. You could try the data for MRP2, which is discontinued, and carefully adjust the charge as the burn rate for N217 is reported as only slightly slower than the older powder.

93.0 grs Retumbo with the 160 gr AB in a M700 LSS
7mm RUM gets 3300 fps and sub MOA accuracy for me.

I've run a lot of N570 in these Ultra Mags; it has served me well

Thanks. I've been running RL 33, retumbo & norma 217. Just wanting to see how it compares to what I'm getting. Wanna try n570 just can't find any!

Bigd, I have a rebarrelled Ruger 1. I use H50BMG with the 160 AB. Velocity runs 3340 ft. / sec. & if my age doesn't get in the way it will shoot sub M.O.A. In my loads Retumbo didn't work for me. Lyman suggester that H50BMG would be a good powder to try in the 7mm RUM. HUS869 also works well but I chose the "Extreme" powder because of our temperature fluctuations during fall hunting seasons. This spring I will be running further tests with the 168 LR AB using the same powder. So far so good. Good luck. :grin:

Bobbyrum, what is your barrel length & powder charge with 50bmg? Have you tried RL 50?

7mm-Rum that is a calibre that definitely will get out there and in one heck of a hurry :wink:.
I am hoping the the 280AI will have a QL sheet in the next little while in 150gr LRAB & 168gr.
So far the only powder that I have in any kind of quantity is RL22.

Sorry Bigd, I'm not here as much as I might like to be & I was at work yesterday. Barrel is 27 3/4 in. stainless, load is 98.0 grn. H50BMG & no I have not tried RL50. Again this is an "Extreme" powder & it worked so well for me that I did not try any others other than HUS869 & Retumbo. If you try this load, please work up to it; it is close to max in my gun. :grin:
