Last year was a rough one. In the 6 years we have lived in Kentucky the kids I take hunting have never failed to kill their deer and I usually have at least two down. Last year my oldest nephew missed a couple of shots and the youngest never even saw a deer. So in order to appease the hunting gods for this Saturday's opener I am going to post up some of our greatest hits from seasons past. Hopefully this will convince Mr. Big to walk out Saturday morning for my youngest nephew.

Well I sure hope this coming weekend is one that you and your family will remember for sometime to come.

HTDUCK, it's a 6mm. My dad bought it not long after he got back from Vietnam. He moved out to New Mexico and bought it with the intention of using it for antelope. Other than some target shooting, it didn't get used for hunting until 2011 when my nephew killed his first deer.
sask boy, I had quit deer hunting quite a few years back. When my oldest nephew turned 13 I decided it was time to come out of retirement. Though I do still enjoy hunting, I get a bigger thrill from watching the kids go through all of the highs of deer hunting. It's like reliving all of the excitement of your first deer.
