He put up a great chase that included fresh dogs after 5 miles thru 2 ft of snow, swiming a river thats 200yds wide,
That dogs would not cross! However after 10 miles he finally gave up the fight. He had just killed one of last years fawns yesterday morning, he won't be killing anymore..........
Good work. That's a big coyote. What do you estimate his weight? I just shot this one from my deer stand a couple weeks ago. It was probably 35 pounds.
Well they always weigh less than everyone thinks....... Most of the 45lbers I have weighed 35lbs......
That one weighed 36.5lbs. So not what we call a big one,
Maine coyotes appear larger than they really are during winter months because of the super dense fur they grow to protect them in the 30/40 below temps they need to deal with.
