Hi fellas, went out for the last time today before my moose hunt to try out the 375 with the new leupold vx-3 scope...fired a total of 28 rounds today  ...@100yds from a bench rest, and using my cat pole while standing :) ..This is where I left it off @ 100yds shooting standing with my cat pole..I don't think newfoundland has a bench rest in the woods  ...Lou

Looking good Lou.
The 375 H&H is a shooter.

Good luck on your moose hunt.

Great shooting Lou, you know a Canadian quarter would have covered the group better, you know it's worth a bit more

 ..It's kinda weird  ..Yah, I wanted to move the group about a 1/4" to the right, and 1/4" down..I left it as is, because I'm flying and don't trust the baggage handlers  ...should be ok with the pelican hard case..when on newfy soil, I well fine tune for sure :) ..that's why i left it as is today, when I land on newfy soil, I well confirm my POI .Lou

You're so there! Glad you decided to take the 3/8" bore!

Lou,

Is that the Federal load with the 260 gr AB?

Groups like that sure can give a guy confidence. Those Ruger No. 1 Tropical models have a great reputation for accuracy, yours definitely is a great shooter.

Thanks Gerry, I'm not the greatest shooter by far, but this rifle well out-shoot most bolt guns for sure  ...I am very pleased at the performance of the #1 for sure...For large heavy game, my sako 85 270wsm has become second fiddle  ...I love em both though  ..Lou

Best of luck on your hunt! You and the rifle are certainly ready for the shot!

I can almost smell the moose roast cooking already...
