Originally I had this made for a long pistol barrel as it is 18".
But right now I didn't have a spare pistol scope for it, so I set it up as a carbine.
Since I can't shoot long guns for awhile, I will go ahead and load up some starting loads and let my 12 yr. old son play around with it, as it will be his in the future anyhow. And I'm sure he will feel more comfortable shooting it as a carbine rather than a pistol, for now that is.
Not really the forend I had in mind, but it'll work for his smaller hands and frame at present. Then later I will modify a standard TC rifle forend for it. Makes for a sweet compact carbine regardless.

Thanks Scotty,,,
It is a niffty rig, albeit I would prefer the forend to be about 3" longer.
I likely will have one made, or at the very least, modify a factory.
It would suffice as is however, and make for a good timber still hunting rig. Yet still have some range for slightly longer shots possible on the meadow edges. It's not extremely light, weighing in a 8lbs. 3 oz., but with my forend hand on or just ahead of the swivel stud,,,,it balances beautifully!!! And that heavy barrel dampens sway very well, from an offhand position.
